wealth of expertise with particular strengths in areas such as business and market development, technology development and commercialization, identification of disruptive technologies, product implementation methodologies, strategy formation and strategic planning, implementing and managing change, team building, coaching, and mentoring. He has significant experience conducting business and leading teams throughout North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Prior to forming 2 The Point Advisors, Jeff served as President and CEO of WiSpry, Incorporated, a company he founded in 2002. WiSpry is a fabless semiconductor company utilizing CMOS-integrated radio frequency micro-electro-mechanical systems (RF-MEMS) technology to develop tunable RF products for the cellular communications and wireless consumer electronics markets. Jeff’s numerous responsibilities at WiSpry included fund raising, Board and investor interactions, representing the Company in the press and public, business and market development, strategic partnerships, and customer and product development activities. Under Jeff’s guidance, WiSpry raised ~$100M in financing from individual, venture, and strategic corporate investors, filed over one hundred fifty US and foreign patents, and executed a successful exit through an acquisition by AAC Technologies in May of 2015. WiSpry achieved a number of industry firsts including the first volume production of RF-MEMS for consumer electronics (2011) and pioneering the first new, widely recognized segment in the RF semiconductor market in decades, Tunable RF. Jeff, as CEO, and WiSpry, the Company, are the recipients of multiple industry awards for leadership and innovation, and Jeff is widely recognized as the “father” of Tunable RF.
Prior to the founding of WiSpry, Jeff held various executive management and technical positions over a 25-year period at leading semiconductor companies including LSI Logic, Applied Micro Circuits (AMCC), Motorola, Alcatel, Harris and Coventor. Early in his career, Jeff did pioneering work in CMOS semiconductor technology used today to fabricate the vast majority of all integrated circuits, and in IC design software leading to today’s design automation tools that are supplied by companies such as Cadence.
Jeff is a well-known and established speaker, author and thought leader in the areas of MEMS, wireless, semiconductors, and technology start-ups. He has served as editor of two invited technical books (one currently in print), and has written three book chapters, two refereed journal papers, and twenty conference papers. He has given fifteen invited keynote presentations. He has over seventy invited professional and conference presentations and technical articles.
Jeff Hilbert received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Florida, with honors. He received his Master of Science in Computer Science degree from Florida Institute of Technology, with high honors. He holds a Certificate of Completion from the University of Florida / Harris Corporation graduate program in Business. In addition, Jeff completed course work and was admitted to candidacy for a Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University.
